Kicking off Vancouver Cocktail Week, Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is thrilled to welcome renowned bartender, author, and industry innovator Jeffrey Morgenthaler for an exclusive Mixed Education seminar and bar pop-up on March 3rd, 2025. This one-of-a-kind event will offer bartenders, cocktail enthusiasts, and industry professionals the opportunity to learn from one of the most influential figures in modern mixology.
Jeffrey Morgenthaler will be presenting his seminar, “In Defense of the ‘Mr. Potato Head’ Method: How the Negroni is a Mint Julep Variation,” as part of our Mixed Education series. Known for his technical precision and deep understanding of cocktail theory, Jeffrey will guide attendees through the creative and scientific approach behind cocktail development, challenging conventional wisdom while demonstrating how classic drinks evolve through modular adjustments.
Following the seminar, Jeffrey will step behind the bar at Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions for a special pop-up, where guests can experience his legendary craftsmanship firsthand. He’ll be serving two signature cocktails for the evening:

Painkiller with Dole Whip
Jeffrey Morgenthaler has been a driving force in the cocktail industry for nearly three decades, pioneering trends such as barrel-aged cocktails and modern Amaretto Sours. As co-owner of Pacific Standard and The Sunset Room in Portland, his influence extends far beyond the bars he manages—his books, The Bar Book and Drinking Distilled, have shaped the way countless bartenders approach their craft.
